HuUbuntu: I Am Because We Are — A Way of Life is a 365-day inspirational companion drawing from a rich Zimbabwean and African heritage. Its central affirmation is one the world has been slow to recognise: The deep leadership wisdom rooted in HuUbuntu. This is a communal way of being that understands the self as inseparable from others. Rather than presenting this as theory to be admired, the book offers it as a practice to be lived, one day at a time, across a full year. Weaving his personal life experience throughout the book, Patrick Makokoro unfolds the aspirations across twelve months.  Each month is anchored by a Shona mutupo — a clan animal totem and is paired with an Indigenous proverb. Carrying inherited identity and obligation, each day of aspirations closes with two things the reader can carry: an Action for that day, and an Aspiration to hold beyond it. Through this rhythm, the practice builds outward from the self to family, workplace and community.
